A few days ago, Rob Kovacs released the single, ‘Bitter Memory‘, a song about permanently closing the doors to the past relationships that are in some way or form detrimental. However, sometimes no matter how strong your conviction is, you may waver and falter. in ‘Bitter Memory‘ there is this motif that plays out throughout the song, acting as a soft of barrier between Kovacs and said love interest. However, when that guitar solo kicks in tensions rise before ultimately softening and letting those walls down. The production is masterful. It takes Kovacs’ strong yet vulnerable vocals and places them just out of reach on the other side of that barrier. Yet, when the vocals come back in after the guitar solo, they are laid bare in absolute vulnerability, front and center. Oh, but that twist at the end of the song was rather brilliant!
